Mr. N. Selvarajah meticulously compiled a documentation of the events surrounding the Fourth International Conference of Tamil Research Studies, held in Jaffna on January 10, 1974, where it is reported that nine or eleven people lost their lives after Sri Lankan police disrupted the conference. This year, with our financial support, his book titled ‘Memory is Our Shield’ was published in Tamil and English. Although published five decades after the incident, this book serves as a vital document, recording a historically significant event.
